SIGNA Scholarship Foundation
Application in 2025 for the 2025–2026 Academic Year
Thank you for your interest in the SIGNA Scholarship Foundation. The SIGNA Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization of alumni/ae of the Office of Security (OS) which continues the fellowship and sociability formed during officers’ careers in the security field at the Agency. It is our hope, through the Foundation’s scholarship awards, to continue to be involved with our sister organization and to have a positive impact on the lives of the children and grandchildren of OS officers.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the Foundation awarded three $3000 scholarships. The number of scholarships and the amounts awarded are based on the discretion and resources of the Scholarship Foundation Board.
As in previous years, the applicant must be a child or grandchild of a current or former OS career service employee or current member of The SIGNA Society.
Students must be attending or planning to attend a four-year college, community college, vocational school, or other post-high school institution. The candidate is free to apply for other scholarship assistance he/she desires, and these awards will be made irrespective of any other applications or awards, including the Education Assistance Fund. Former applicants may reapply.
Given the number and quality of applications the Foundation receives, the Board has decided to limit the number of scholarships awarded to a single applicant to two awards. Previous awardees are encouraged to apply, but if a student has won two previous scholarships from the SIGNA Foundation, they are no longer eligible. Awards are no longer granted for graduate studies.
A student may submit the 2025-26 application and required material in hard copy or electronically via our website. Both methods require submitting the following package–all of the items must be included:
- Complete SIGNA Scholarship Foundation application form. See link below or via regular mail address below.
- Official transcript of the most recent high school or college grades.
- A short essay about who you are, what you have done to help yourself by either part-time work or community involvement, why you feel qualified to receive an award, and/or your plans for the future.
- Two recommendations from teachers, guidance counselors or mature people within your community who have known you well during the past two years and are not related to you.
- Official college entrance examination board results (SAT and/or ACT) for HS seniors are accepted as indicators of future academic success, but not required.
If submitted by mail/hard copy, all forms must be TYPEWRITTEN OR PRINTED LEGIBLY IN DARK INK. The completed application package must be postmarked by Monday, March 31, 2026 to be considered. Mail to:
